This Site is hosted on servers in the EU and/or the US. Our Site contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or operation of other sites.

What information do we collect?

Personal Information includes:
For school owners: school name, school owner's name, contact details (phone numbers, e-mail address and addresses), teacher's names and contact details and data about the pages that are visited on this site. The only students' information that is required is an email address. Students' names may be added to the system only by their school or teacher. Students' grades for each class are in the system for up to 12 months (or as long as the access lasts).

For students: e-mail, book and optionally a name, city, country (students may choose a username other than their real name)

For teachers: school name, name, e-mail address, and optionally other contact details, city, country, (phone numbers) class name.

How do we collect your Personal Information?

We collect your information in two ways:
1. Personal Information you choose to disclose.
You may, for example, provide us with your information when you post something on the Site, when you register for any features on the Site that require registration, when you contact us or when you order goods or services from us.

2. Website use information collected by us as you interact with our Site.
We use cookies (a small piece of computer code that we store for a period of time on your computer or mobile device) when you visit the Site. The cookie is sent to and stored on your computer containing a unique session identifier. This identifier is used to record site usage statistics.

In a separate automatic operation the web server will collect your IP address and browser type and details of the Website where you came from before entering this Site. This information is used to:
i. work out how many times this Site has been visited;
ii. Scores achieved and
iii. record which parts of the Site have been visited so we can improve the content and layout of the Site.

What do we do with the information?

  • providing and maintaining the operation of MyCosmicLab, including back up services;
  • improving the design and performance of McCosmicLab;
  • verifying legitimate users of MyCosmicLab and allowing them to access MyCosmicLab;
  • allowing students to bookmark their progress through MyCosmicLab;
  • allowing teachers and students' parents to monitor students' progress through MyCosmicLab.

We will not use the contact information of students under the age of 18 for marketing purposes.

Safety of your Personal Information on our Site

We seek to protect the safety of your personal information against unauthorised access through a secure system.
We use appropriate security measures on our own systems, but the Internet is not a secure medium and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted via the internet.
Any Personal Information that you voluntarily post on a public area of the Site, such as a bulletin board, profile or discussion forum, or an interactive area requiring registration and/or subscription, may be collected and used by others. You understand that we cannot control the actions of other users.

You agree not to misuse any Personal Information available on the Site or to gather it or use robots or other automated scripts, codes or functionalities to do so.

We will never sell your Personal Information. We will not disclose personal information to any third parties, other than within Pearson Group except as required by law or to successors in title to our business and suppliers (such as Conceptum A.S) that process data on our behalf who will only use it to the extent needed to perform their services for us.
